If you are looking for a comfortable cruiser and a capable racer then look no further! Wharf Rat is a good looking, clean, well maintained yacht with all the tools to win races and cruise the Caribbean. She is sure-footed, steady in bad weather, predictable in confused seas, points well, flies on a reach...and you will love her down wind manners! Wharf Rat has always sailed well beating down Bay towards the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The CS40 is stiff , responsive, balanced, powerful, fast and fun to sail.
- The CS 40 was designed by Tony Castro, British Yacht Designer of many America Cup Boats. Her lines and sail plan are a classic example of a Perfect Performance, Cruising Yacht. SAILING WORLD voted the CS 40 "Top of the Class" and "Boat of the Year" in 1987.
- Owners and equipment manuals are included, bottom painted August 2013 and hull painted AwlGrip Flag Blue in 2003.The wide beam and long waterline gives the CS 40 an incredibly roomy interior.
- The forward cabin has a traditional V berth with storage cabinets over the foot end of the bunk and a vanity with drawers and cabinet in the cabin.
- Next aft is the enclosed head with shower and teak grate, hot and cold pressurized water. Opposite head is a cedar lined wet locker.
- The main salon has an L shaped settee to port that converts to a double and centerline drop leaf teak dining table. The berth to starboard is a single, both main cabin berths have a lee cloth. There are lockers and shelves/bookcase outboard of the settees.
The navigation area is to starboard with a dedicated seat, a teak chart desk and an instrument console. Outboard is the circuit breaker panel for the electrical systems, a flush mounted VHF radio and 2012 Fusion stereo with 4-speakers. A GPS, chart plotter and tv/monitor are just forward of the nav desk.
The Galley is to port with a 3 burner propane stove and oven. There is a refridge/freezer at the aft end of the galley and a built in ice box behind the sinks. The sinks are deep stainless steel near centerline for good drainage. The Galley has excellent ventilation with 3 portholes and a deck hatch overhead. There is ample food and dish storage in sliding drawers and cabinet doors behind the reefer, stove and sinks.
The aft cabin has a generous double berth, a vanity sink with pressure water, cedar lined hanging locker and a dresser with 4 drawers. There is standing headroom in the forward section of the aft cabin. Good ventilation with 3 ports and a deck hatch.
There is excellent ventilation throughout the boat with 12 opening hatches and ports.
A gigantic port cockpit locker provides access to hot water heater, rack & pinion steering and houses the reefer compressor, storm sails, life preservers, lines, etc!
