Our July 4th cruise into Baltimore for the Fireworks display worked out great sailing in 10-12knots of wind into Baltimore under the Francis Scott Key Bridge and passing the Stars and Stripe Buoy marking the spot where the Star Spangled Banner was penned by Key when he was held captive by the British. Linda (red,white & blue striped shirt) flew in from California to join Tony and the rest of te crew for the traditional ASE BBQ. We rafted up with Greg & Gail Schoolden and their family just outside Baltimore's Inner Harbor at Tide Point for a great night on the water watching the spectacular fireworks show.

Don't have a team? No Problem, individuals and smaller groups can team up with the regular crew for an adventurous day racing on the Bay. Run the lines, set the sails and check the settings as we leave the dock and prepare for the start.

Brunch and Sunset Sails

Brunch & Sunset Dinner Cruises depart from the Baltimore/Annapolis area and feature freshly prepared gourmet meals May through October. Sit back and relax or participate in the sailing and enjoy the powerful sloop-rigged design of Tony Castro sail through the chop of the Bay, waves reflecting off the deep navy blue hull. Visit the local creeks and anchor for your delicious meal or take a swim. Enjoy a special evening on the Chesapeake watching the sun set and planets begin to appear, perfect for celebrating a special occasions in your life.

Instructional Sails

Partake in a spectacular day sailing the Chesapeake while participating in an enlightening sail-training program! Ideal for groups looking for a relaxing day of sailing, but want a more informative and hands-on experience than just a pleasure cruise. Take the helm, work the pit, trim the genoa sail while tacking back-and-forth to your destination, navigate with paper and electronic charts using a GPS, or simply sit back and enjoy the experience! Overnight excursions to the Eastern Shore or longer destinations are available on request.

Private Sailing Charters

Wharf Rat is available to charter for 1/2 days or longer for groups up to six people. Enjoy a sail across the Bay to visit an Eastern shore town, or anchor in a scenic creek and enjoy a cold drink and some down time. Take the dinghy to the local town for a walk or savor one of the many fine local restaurants. Have more time? Spend the night and be amazed by the clarity of the stars and Milky Way Galaxy while anchored away from the light polluton of the heavily populated Western Shore.
